In memory of Cody

My dear sweet Cody also known as Codybear.
He was the sweetest cat and best little friend ever.
He got sick suddenly a week before Thanksgiving.
I found out he had lung cancer.
He went to sleep January 18.
He was with me almost 13 years. I miss him very much.

I thought I would say hello to all of you and pay a small tribute to my little friend.

He would actually come to me when I called him.
He followed me everywhere.
He either had to be sitting where he could touch me or look at me.
He would cry when I would take a shower...
and
...he was always there for me when I cried.
He demanded my attention when I would talk on the phone or type at the computer.
He always sat and watched (looking a bit jealous) when I loved on my other cat Darbi.
He was excellent at giving kitty kisses and receiving tender hugs.
He genuinely loved me unconditionally.
What an amazing little fellow.

I miss you and love you Cody.
I will be coming back to the Castle after a little time.
Please sign in and say hello....
~xo

It's always hard when a pet dies. They become part of the family dynamics. Wishing you pleasant memories of Cody.

So sorry for your loss. Miss you.

Wee Cody looks a lot like my cat Mitchell, who went in a similar way. Very distressing. After the euthanasia, the vet let me sit with her in the waiting room.

I am so sorry! I know how hard it is to lose a sweet and awesome cat that you've had as a companion for so long. I know a new cat would never take his place, but there are lots of sweet kittens at the animal shelters that need good homes. Just make sure they purr when you first hold them, or else they could be real jerks!

Sorry to hear Cody passed on, I know how tough that is, having had many pets in my lifetime.

I say!

So sorry to hear about your loss. I expect that you cried.

Was he named after Cody Pomeray?

You still have the memories, though.

Aw, sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is always traumatic, although not everyone understands that.

Ohh, I am sorry to hear this. I loved a cat once, too. Even now we are sometimes reunited in dreams, and I am so happy to see him.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. When we lost our cat, Shadow, to diabetes just short of his 13th birthday, it took ages to get over the emptiness and sense of loss. They really do burrow their way into our lives.

I hope you return to active blogging soon, as you've always been a gentle, encouraging voice in the blogosphere. May you find comfort in this virtual world, and may your home welcome a new family member in the very near future.
