The weekend is over...

I feel lucky! I have done some wonderful things in the last couple of weeks.

Last weekend, I wanted to do something fun and different, so I went to watch The Beaux Arts Trio.

I ended up going alone, but I had a wonderful time. See the little guy in the middle..he is the pianist. He was very entertaining, as he would thrash his head toward the violinist (the guy on the right ~ red headed guy) throughout the performance. The violinist could not see him doing this. The violinist and the cellist were playing their intruments in front on either side of the pianist. He also made large mouth gestures throughout, as if he were singing in an operatic fashion, but no words ever came out. The violinist moved about as he played, the stronger the music, the more he moved. The cellist was very poised. He looked as if he played with his eyes closed quite a bit. There were times when he was playing so hard, his feet lifted from the floor. It was a wonderful show, they had two encores.

Saturday of this weekend that just passed, I went to Art on the Rocks at the Art Museum. It was great fun. We first sat with a very interesting man and talked for over an hour. He is the second person that said I resemble the Mona Lisa. Saurkraut once wrote this in one of her posts. There was an endless variety of delicious hors d'oeuvres. I had wine...let's see, a couple glasses of Merlot, Cabernet, Shiraz, Chardonnay and then I tried a Cosmopolitan martini. There were a couple of DJs inside close to the food. They played what I think is called Dance music. I did recognize one song. Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani, but it was synthesized. There were other activities outside. There was a band, Alejandro Escovedo, which drew a big crowd. I also created some of my own primitive art.

It was fun...but that is what you get when you mix art with alcohol. Plus, I didn't spend a whole lot of time working on it. It was fairly chilly outside (44 degrees fahrenheit/6.66 degrees celsius) and there was still the art to see, which was amazing. I didn't get the chance to really look at all of the art as long as I had wanted to, so I will definitely be going back to do that. The night was so much fun, I wish I could do it all over again soon. The night was wonderful in lieu of the fact we had a little trouble finding our vehicle in the parking deck at the end of the night. I didn't feel bad about that, because we were not the only ones. ;)

So, did any of you do something fun this past weekend, or have any plans for something fun?

Have a great Monday!

~xo

I love the Arts, Babygirl ... but, there aren't any museums on the beach, lol. I would have enjoyed accompanying you to the Beaux Arts Trio ... they sound like smokers!

Peace and hugs to you Babygirl!

Escavedo is an amazing performer so few know about. I went to the Milwaukee International Film Festival. It's been pretty cool so far. More movies to see! Ends next weekend.

Got the front prepared for Halloween. The most wonderful time of the year!

Good for you to have a weekend filled with arts.... and crafts!
Mine was spent working the whole time.... still at it today cleaning up the mess from the weekend.

I did get to go out to dinner Friday night, celebrating my 22nd wedding anniversary. Then it was back to the grind Saturday morning.

Well, I didn't have as much fun as you, but I did go to football. Oh, and spent some time talking to my Cuban baby on webcam.

Those guys sound really interesting, by the way, thanks to that description of yours!

Last weekend my partner modelled some new underwear, that was the highlight for me.

Going to shows alone can be great. E.g. it's easier to concentrate. I wonder what the trio played.

Artsy fartsy...excuse me dahling.
All kidding aside it does sound nice. Did you wear a nice evening gown? Any pics?

Back here were getting into XMas season already. My store sells commercial grade lights & wreaths & things. We wired up a bunch of tall evergreen trees with little twinkle lights for a cable TV show they are going to shoot. Very pretty.
