The damndest thing happened to me....

I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Mine was good, but just too short.
The damndest thing happened to me on Sunday.
I was preparing to cook. I had just chopped up an onion. I was trying to cut the end piece of the onion (a little tough) to put it down the garbage disposal.
All of the sudden....the knife blade broke off at the end of the handle. The blade popped up and tumbled to the counter. I was in shock! After a small scream of disbelief....I realized what had happened.
I am glad that my face was not any closer than it was!
These knives have been good sturdy knives and are not but a few years old.
I have never seen this happen before.
Have you?

Happy Monday....have a great week everyone!

Lee Ann: I have a nice set that fit into a slated wood base and each has two anchors through them. I'd carefully wrap and dump the knives in a box and find a better set at a reasonable price. Glad you were NOT hurt. That culd have been bad.

As a public service can you tell us what kind of knife it was?

Glad you're in one piece.

Wow, that is just plain freaky ... an ddangerous!

Something odd happened to me too! I was dusting one of my shelves, and a pewter vase fell off one of my shelves and bounced about 7 and a half feet into the air. Off my ass!!!!!!!!!!!

I am ashamed, yet intrigued.

Glad you are OK.

I've had that happen on a couple of knives. It's a little shocking, but now I kind of expect it on old steak knives. Glad you weren't hurt. It's almost comical when it happens though. Like something out of Tom and Jerry or Looney Toons.

Coach, I may have to miss our swimming training this week. Does that mean I have to swim 2 miles next week?

BTW, well done on the dementia test, it's obvious why you're in a financial profession. Can you explain where I went wrong?

A case of red bull caused my cuticle to dislodge a couple of weeks ago - does that count?

Sometimes those knives do that. Thank goodness you didn't get cut.
