Due to our record breaking temperatures here in Alabama...yes, we broke the all time record of having 100+ degree F temperatures for 13 days in a row.
Not only have we been HOT, we have been DRY too.
We have not had any substantial rain in months.
There is a water restriction in place.
The grass is turning brown and the leaves on the trees are starting to look like the beginning of fall because they are so dry.
So....do you know what happens when you have the extremely high temperatures and no rain?
ANTS!!!!
By the thousands (well at least it seems like that).
They travel seeking water by making their way inside, any way they possibly can.
They tend to gather in areas like the kitchen and the bathroom.
It is unbelievable....truly unbelievable.
I have been in war with the ants for a couple of days.
Everytime I win the battle, they show up somewhere else.
Hopefully they have moved on now.
I am ready for the weekend.
This is where I want to be...
At least I can dream of being there!
Have a wonderful weekend!

BG have a great weekend and keep dreaming...who knows one day....
I use borax mixed with sugar. But I'd rather have ants than cockroaches.
Have a good weekend.
Hey you have to have a dream!!
It's finally cooled off quite a bit here, and the smoke seems to be keeping away. I think you should come up here instead!
Yeah, those little nippers are looking for water too. Try to stay cool... and have fun doing it. Cheers!
Lee Ann! You must bail out! Let's face it, Scotland is the place to be! Eventually, you will have no water to drink! Immigrate to Scotland! Hotboy
I say!
High eighties here in Kalimbuka. Warmer than usual for this time of year. No flying ants until January or so. The local children love them - grab them from the air, pull the wings off, and then down the hatch. Good protein.
Have a wonderful weekend, Lee Ann.
