Answers to short and sweet!

My last post, I asked you to find the names of three mammals in the sentence below:

The large crowd at the flea market came looking for bargains. I took off the peel and ate the banana. He has no judgment, no sense altogether.

Here are the names........

came looking = camel

peel and = eland

sense altogether = seal

And here is the man's head in the coffeebeans:

An eland? You've made that up. It's even less likely than my eel-eating panda. I claim the prize, and donate it to hotboy. What is it?

Here's a challenge for you. I posted a picure puzzle a while ago, similar to the coffee bean thing - called where's willy?

I didn't understand the animal challenge, but I got the freaky head right away. You must like brain teasers, you brainy person you.
Brains and beauty too. A dangerous combination!

robmcj ~ Hey! No I promise I didn't make the Eland up. I even posted a picture of it. I will check out your challenge :)

ticharu ~ Hey! Good job with the beanhead! Thank you, you are too kind:) Glad you are back.

Sure an eland is a real animal. So are unicorns. ;)

I'm gushing over the pic of the seal now. My absolute favorite animal. I would love to be the Diane Fosse of the seal world.

You're just a brain tease.

I never did find that man in the beans... but now I know.

Dear Lee Ann,

Good quiz! Had me beat.

With respect to the eland - quite common in Southern Africa. If you're interested in seeing them in situ, try Pete's Pond which has a live waterhole webcam. You can see a family of elephant most mornings (local time), and kudu later in the day.

I'll ask Doviko if he knows any eland recipes.

Saw a film of a poor African chasing an eland till it was too knackered to go on. Then he ate it. Vegetarians don't have to be so fit! Hotboy

Anytime now. Tick tock tick tock...

That's what I get for slacking off for a day. I missed a brain teaser that I would have failed miserably.

Whew! :)

beckeye ~ Hey! I knew the Eland would not be well known, that is why I put a picture of it. The seal is so adorable. I would love to see them up close.

madhatter ~ Hey! So you think I am a tease, huh?

frog ~ Hey! Weird how he blends in, isn't it?

Menzies ~ Hey! Is that where you are...South Africa? That is so cool! I cannot imagine what it would be like to see the Eland and Elephants so commonly. I don't know if I could eat Eland. My boyfriend hunts, and I find it hard to eat deer. I do know a lot of people that like deermeat. I wonder if it tastes similar to Eland.

Hotboy ~ Hey! There you go using that word I like again....knackered. I might be a vegetarian if I had to eat Eland.

Dave ~ Hey! "Buggtastic Brain Busters" (BBB)...hmmm....I like that!

Fred ~ Hey! Oh, I am sure you would have done well with it:)

I'm so full of beans.

jiggs ~ Hey! You know what they say about beans....the more you eat....! hahaha

What's an eland?

I did very poorly on this quiz with the animal idenitifications minus the camel, but got the bonus with the coffeebeans pretty quicky. Tricky one Lee Ann!

wez ~ Hey! An Eland is the largest antelopes of Africa, standing nearly 2 m high at the shoulder, and a fully grown male may weigh over 700 kg. Both sexes have heavy, spirally twisted horns of up to 1 m in length.

echeevo ~ Hey! Good job with the Camel and the beanhead! Don't feel bad, not everyone got it!

there are even more animals with names most have not heard of....

Lee Ann said...

mojo ~ Hey! You are right. I find it interesting that certain animals would be so common in one area and we may not have heard of them in this area. And...... Congratulations on solving the teaser, getting all three names! Good job:)
