I went to meet a friend to grab a bite to eat the other night. I went into the parking deck and drove around the first quadrant. Someone was about to back out of their spot. I was ready to pull straight in. When the lady backed out, some rude lady drove up from the side, put her blinker on and swerved into the spot. There was no reason for me to have my blinker on because I was going to pull straight into the spot. I cannot believe that people can be so rude. I waited until she got out of her car and I gave her a look like I couldn't believe she just did that, then I moved on and found another spot. Ughhhh!
Have you ever had one of those servers in a restaurant that tend to be overly helpful? The one we had, came to the table to check on us a few times. Every time she came to the table she said, "Do you want a box for that"? Maybe she thought I was finished because I had paused eating while I was in the midst of talking. Just because I had stopped for a moment and was not "inhaling it", did not mean I wanted to box it up. She took my friend's plate saying "Let me get that out of your way". She had not finished, but had put her fork down for a moment. My friend said to me "Well, I guess I was finished with my rice, she must want us to leave." It was a nice restaurant with a lot of customers, but it was not completely full, maybe her section was full and she wanted to turn the table. Kind of rude!
I went to get my nails done during lunch yesterday. If you have a cell phone or a blue tooth, does that make it all right to have an entire private phone conversation within inches of a stranger? I just think there are certain times you can leave the phone in your purse or pocket. Like at the nail place while getting your nails done! In a store at the checkout counter. In the gym...wtf? In a restaurant. In an elevator, church, movie, theatre.... Oh the best one of all....a co-worker that brings her cell phone into the conference room during staff meetings. Come on people...have some common sense. Oh yeah, just because it has a ringer on it doesn't mean you have to answer it right where you are at that very moment. That is one of the reasons for caller ID and voice mail!
After getting my nails done, I went to pick up a quick lunch to take back to the office. I don't normally eat too much fast food, but I ate some yesterday. I went through the drive through at Hamburger Heaven....ummm really good! Anyway to end on a funny note....I pulled up to the speaker to order, the voice came over the speaker saying "Welcome to Hamburger Helper .... pause...pause...pause....[embarrassed] Uh, may I take your order".
*giggle*

I have witnessed many a fight for parkings spots! My usual reaction is just to ignore, give way and move on....you never know what mad person is driving the car..mind you it's usually me!! ha ha
xx :0)
LMAO!! Hamburger helper!! You are so cute and yes people are jackasses in parking lots.
And the over zelous waiters freak me out.
LOL
You are so right.
On my cellphone I have a buzzer, so it doesn't ring at all, after one "buzz" it closes and gives me a misscall sign, in order for me to be able to call back at a convenient time.
Okay, Babygirl!
1) So, it was Melanie that was ready to duke it out for that spot, eh?
2) I hate those kinds of waiters too! But, sucker that I am, I still tip em good.
3) (out of order) They must joke around at Hamburger Heaven all the time, an he just forgot who he was talking to!
4) Thank you so much for the reminder about Cell Phone Etiquette, I've been so guilty lately as regards your indictment! Seriously. I'm leaving the sucker in the car from now on, get my personal shit later!
5) You are so beautiful!
Peace and hugs to you Babygirl!

You have just described Big City life perfectly. I have never had my nails done but everything else has happened to me.
Next time roll up to the person and tell them people get killed in parking lots for doing that. Then tell them they are lucky because you're such a nice person.
I've never had my nails done ... and I don't drive ... or eat hamburgers, .. and I haven't got a cell phone. Hotboy
p.s. I never go to restaurants if I can help it either! Hotboy
this is a very cool blog, would like to visit again.
I wasn't waiting for a spot, but I was pulling out of a store in a strip center yesterday, and i'm driving along one of the store fronts, trying to get to the exit that feeds onto the main road, and some dood is c-r-a-w-l-i-n-g past the same store front i'm passing, right in front of me.. for no good reason! He was just going soooo slow and holding up "traffic" and finally I just HONKed at him and quickly drove around him, pissed off and cursing him!! gah! I guess i was just in a hurry to leave and I thought that was rude! lol :)
I hate people who jump your parking spot. They are devil-spawn and need to be eradicated.
I solved the cellphone problem by throwing mine away.
I hate those parking space takers, public talkers, and overattentive waiters!!
Courtesy NEVER goes out of style...And LeeAnn has the most style of anyone I know!
glad it ended on a funny note. yes some people can be insufferable.
happy women's day lee ann :)
People get crazy about parking spots.
Have a good weekend (without snakes!), Lee Ann! Hotboy
Don't let those parking spot thieves get you down. Just imagine that they will get really fat because they're too lazy to walk the extra 100 feet they might have had to if they'd taken a further spot. If that doesn't happen, karma will pay them back some way.
I love Hamburger Helper. Maybe there SHOULD be a restaurant that serves all Hamburger Helper offerings. And Chicken Tonight. Whatever happened to that??
what a day . anyway , alls well in the end .
If someone tries to take my food before I'm ready I slap their hands and pretend to bite it.
Lee Ann - Most restaurants have a time limit they try to stick to for the turns on a table. Usually it's about a half hour depending on the traffic.
I'd rather have them be helpful than rude. Sometimes you have to just tell them nicely that you're ok for now and will tell them when you're ready. It lets them know that you're ok without hurting their feelings.
Have a great weekend.
Peace & Hugs,
- Neo
Melanie is right. Not worth a fight over a parking spot. Let them be petty. That waiter was beyond rude. I am sensitive about turning my cell phone on silent. Especially since my ringtone is Jimi Hendrix playing "The Star Spangled Banner" at Woodstock!
We have people who use their cell phone in the elevator.
