Ok, this one is for all of you football fans!
I have to warn you, the picture you are about to see is not for those with a weak stomach!
This happened during the Alabama - Florida game on Oct. 1.
Alabama junior Tyrone Prothro continues to recover after surgery Saturday night that repaired broken bones in his left leg suffered in the Tide’s 31-3 victory over Florida earlier that day.
EEK Gads! That just makes me sick to my stomach!
Ok, ok....I won't leave you with that vision for an entire weekend.
Here is a picture of a beautiful sunset from one of the balconies at my Castle, in the Land of Blog, far far away! Someone asked me once "If you were a crayon, what color would you be?" My answer is... "the pinkish-red, golden color of a sunset". I just love it.
Thanks again for all of my well wishes of feeling better. I am sure I will be much better very soon.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Watching in TV with slow motion is even worse....
You know I got the same picture in an email on Tuesday!
What is it about something like that... it just makes me want to pull myself inside out so I don't have to see it anymore!
Have a good weekend Lee Ann. Feel better.
what a great picture...the football one of course. i never saw the shot of joe thiesman when LT broke his leg. this is just as good.
mojo ~ I can only imagine watching that in slow mo! Uggghhhh! It makes my stomach turn inside out.
Dave ~ You got that right! It is nauseating. Thank you, I am sure I will feel good as new before I know it. You have a great weekend too. If you find yourself watching the lunar activity at 3am, call, I may be awake coughing my head off! :)
Carl ~ I just knew you would like this picture. I figured Frank and Zuma would like it too! Have a good weekend!
Sped past the first one to the lovely view. If I could work anything I could post photies of sunsets out of one of my windows in Edinburgh. The flat looks onto a park where the first rugby international between Scotland and England was played. All to the right is a tree line with a fairy tale , castle like spire stretched up into pink/red sunsets of great beauty. The spire is the school where Tony Blair was educated. Cost over £20,000 a year to go there.
Your views look great though. Nothing like having a nice view!! Hotboy
Hotboy ~ Yes, the view is great! It is hard to see in the picture ~ the beautiful rolling hills in the distance. I would love to see some of the scenery you are talking about. It sounds majestic.
oh btw
ROLL TIDE!
mojo ~ I figured you would have already said that!!!! ;)
Hey Frank! Yes, I just cannot even imagine it! It looks like he is catching the ball too! Unbelievable!
The picture is awesome...
Not sure why he was even still in the game. They were killing Florida.. and Bamas best player was still in there with like 2mins to go? Makes no sense.. then the dude breaks his fucking leg in half. Not good.
Avik ~ Thanks! I like your new profile pic too.
Wez ~ Hey, haven't seen you for a while. Are you a Bama fan? That was pretty bad luck for him, bad break! I was born in Iowa.
LA - I will be visiting hotboy in the next year or two, mainly to collect my royalties, but I can take some pics of the spire that he describes. It is very striking. My mother lives beside it. I feel sure she and hotboy would hit it off if I could arrange an introduction. They have such a lot in common.
Yeah, that picture is gross. For those of us old enough to remember, Joe Theismann broke his leg in a play during a Monday Night Football game. They showed the play over and over; it was not a pretty sight.
Did they put him down?
Rob ~ I would like to see the pictures! I am sure it is beautiful. I imagine HB could become friends with anyone. I am sure your mom and him would hit it off.
Zombie ~ I think there is thousands of uses for duct tape. Glad it keeps your leg on!
Fred ~ I can only imagine seeing that happen to Joe Theismann, I heard it was pretty bad. I remember seeing Dave Dravecky break his arm while pitching back in 1989. That was horrifying!
Tich ~ Fortunately he is recovering from surgery...eeeewwwwhhhh *cringe*. That is stomach churning isn't it?
What Fred said. I remember seeing that Theismann injury over...and over...and over....
Nasty.
LA - OK, I have done a post showing the castle and where they both live.
When I was 18 a buddy of mine had a forklift fall on his legs. Broke 'em both right below the knee. This guy was so slick, he had a power hitter in his hospital room, stoned to the bone *ouch* before, during and after the accident!
BeckEye ~ I know, it is just hard to look at!
Jimi ~ Hey! Thank you for stopping by! I can tell where you are from just by the words...blimey, knackered, blasphemy. I love to hear that. Thank you, come back by again.
Rob ~ That is magnificent! Her castle is bigger than mine! Wow!
Ticharu ~ Oh my goodness! That sounds unbearable. A power hitter, eh? Maybe the pain wasn't so unbearable afterall, huh? That must have been a long recovery.
Lee Ann - OUCH!!!!
If it wasn't real, it would sure look fake. The body just isn't supposed to bend like that. I know my man is on some serious pain killers.
Neo cringes
Neo ~ Hey! Thank you for stopping by! No doubt, it doesn't look real. I am *cringing* right there next to you! Stop back by again.
Lee Ann - No problem. Anytime.
heard about this game while I was in Boston and heard about the injury at the News. That picture makes me dizzy. I just hope Prothro got a nice mainline of Demerol very soon after this picture was taken. I had a similar experience when I broke my knee cap while recovering from ACL surgery. When I tried to stand, my knee bent back the wrong way. I was alone after I took the fall and the shear terror is something I hope I never have to experience ever again. The demerol was very nice and much needed once I got to the ER.
echeevo72 ~ ouch! That doesn't sound good at all. I have to tell you, broken bones (distortion of limbs) is one of the worst things for me to handle. I truly feel like I am turned inside out. I had that terror when I tore all of the tendons and ligaments from the bottom of my foot/top of my foot up through my calf and shin to my knee. (Cast for 14 weeks):(
