Yesterday, just before I got in my car to go home from work, I saw a beautiful butterfly lying on the pavement in the parking lot.
It was lying on it's side and barely moving it's wings. I knew if it stayed there, it would not have any chance of survival.
I picked it up and put it on my sleeve. It fluttered it's beautiful wings for a moment then calmed down. I decided to take it home and put it on my balcony. At least that would give the helpless little thing a chance.
It stayed on my sleeve the whole way home. When I put it on my balcony once I got home, it started fluttering and walking around. So I left it alone in hopes it would be able to fly away happily.
It is no longer out there, so I am hoping I saved it's life.
Look how beautiful it is.
The first picture was taken just after I got in the car to go home.
The second picture was taken half way home, while sitting in the car at a red light.
The last picture was taken right before I put him on the balcony.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Love ya!

"He was a beautiful butterfly"
I never get tired of reading that story to my children.
Giving makes one feel all warm inside.
*squash*
Lee Ann - Wow, that is so cool! You are such a wonderful person. :)
If you ever see me passed out on the ground, put me on your sleeve and leave me on the balcony k?
LOL

Consider yourself wonderful for doing your part to save one of earths creatures!
Have a good weekend, and stay clear of the storms that are passing through you on their way to the east.
He/She is a free and beautiful soul because you gave him/her wings.

awwww!! you are too sweet for words!!
[except those of course.. LOL]
;)
Very beautiful. I hate to tell you this, but... he was probably on his last legs. Still, you never know! I know this: if you find a bee like that, you can feed it honey or sugar water and it will be OK again. They sometimes miscalculate how far away they fly, and run out of fuel.
You continue to amaze Rasta, you are so caring, so beautiful.
*peace and hugs Babygirl

Damasta ~ Thank you so much.
Saur ~ I had thought of that, but I just have to hope it wasn't.
I didn't know that about bees, but I do know that a certain type of bee(that of which I am not sure) I am allergic. Once, when I was a teenager, I was mowing grass, it flew up from the ground and stung me on my leg. Oh my goodness, I found out I am allergic as my entire thigh swelled. :(
Rasta ~ Thank you Rasta, Babygirl loves your hugs.
~peace and hugs to you Rasta

Your average butterfly only lives for a week I think, so you probably made its last few hours on earth the best few hours of its life.
I say!
Dr Z is rather one for entomology. Perhaps he can throw some light on this.

Lee Ann,
How are things at the gym? Lost any weight? Any noticable results?
I miss HNT.
Saving something has got to be good! Did the beating of its wings not cause a typhoon or something. Chaos theory? Butterflies in Yucatan. Maybe it flew up from there and got knackered! Hotboy
Mike ~ Thank you, I just have to think he is flying around now :)
Hippo ~ Still working out everyday, thank you for asking. Why do you miss it cutie hippo?
Hotboy ~ Yes, the poor little thing was definitely knackered.
That is so sweet! I hereby dub thee Lee Ann the Critter Saver and bless you for your kind soul. I too have a soft spot for living things in distress. Lord knows how many injured birds I've saved. Good on ya!
Andy ~ Thank you...I accept that honor most graciously!
Wow, that looks like the same one I picked out of my car's grill the other day!
Kid ~ Hey! Glad you stopped at the Castle. I wonder....naaaa!
Hope you come back soon.
