Parking in Munich!
::Gulp::
How do they lock each car in its cubicle for safety.
WHO CARES. NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND COULD GET IN THERE.
Talk about German efficiency!
The photo above was taken at a new parking garage in Munich.
The actual space that the facility occupies is approximately only 20% of a comparable facility with the traditional design that is used primarily in the US.
Not only is the German structure less expensive to build, but vehicles are also "retrieved" in less time and without the potential of being damaged by an attendant.
What do you think?
Have a great day!

Great .Do they offer a discount for my mini Cooper ? They should . It weights less and therefore the elevator wld. have an east time lifting it up !
As long as I'm not in the car when it goes up that lift fine by me. If they drop it, they buy me another one.
Let's hope they have a staggered Rush Hour!
Peace and hugs to you Babygirl ... you are so beautiful!
I have seen this before....of course I have since I am so muchly into automobiles right? Truly an engineering marvel and just a glimpse of the future and what CAN be done if the minds are allowed to run free....Thinking out of the box in other words.
Brad
Wow scary yes but REALLY cool!!
Have a wonderful day Lee Ann!
Foto ~ Yes, that is true. I wonder if motorcycles have a discount!
Jason ~ I agree. I don't think I would care much for that ride either.
Rasta ~ You are right. Wonder if they have a power outage if you cannot get your car back!
Thank you sweet Rasta.

Too bad for car thieves . Their job is Gone In 60 sec ...err ..60 floors full of cars !
I'm sorry but you couldn't pay me enough to park my car that far up, I mean WTF? LOL
So what's next ? The Twin Towers of car park !
I'm surprised the Japanese haven't copied the idea, and combined it with their cubicle hotels.
I wouldn't mind
parking my car
in your garage.
The engineering involved is pretty cool to ponder.
Sorry I've been an absenty blogger.
But, I'm back!
i think its great. i would like to see such ingenuity here in the USA.
Jef ~ I agree. I still wonder about the power failing!
John ~ I think it would deter them a bit! haha

this was in a magazine at my dentist's office early this year. crazy huh!
Terrifying. Actually, I think Blogger might have sorted out the beta commenting bug, so this is a kind of test... if it works, next time I'll say something mildly interesting.

Jeepers now that is something different! We could do with parking spaces like that overhere at our malls, can never find a bloody parking!!!!!!!
it kind of reminds me of the way bodies were retrieved in the matrix.
You vill park there
and you vill like it!
I'm scared.
Just looking at it gives me the willys. It's really interesting though.
NOT ON YOUR LIFE or mine for that matter! No way Jose! They can keep this structure, I prefer to drive in circles all the way up and park on a level flat cement floor.
