Have you ever been under that "Funk" Cloud?

I am still under that "funk" cloud. My cable/internet is still down.
I promise I am not ignoring all of you.I won't go into detail of all the time I have spent trying to get someone to my place to get my service up again. Long story short - someone is suppose to come out this afternoon. They are going to credit my account for the amount of time my service has been down and they have also offered me a month of service free. So, I will take off from work this afternoon, go home, hope someone shows up...keep my fingers crossed that my service will be restored this afternoon.

I also won't go into any detail about some major disappointment I have had. People can really surprise you.

On Saturday night, I was on my way home (alone in my car) around midnight. I had stopped at a red light and my car died. I was stuck in the middle of the road, in the middle of the night. I put the hood of my car up, put my emergency flashers on and locked my doors.Fortunately, not too much later, a guy pulled up next to me, rolled his passenger window down and asked me if I was ok. I said yes, but think my battery died. He said he had cables and would give me a jump and for me to stay in the car. (That was nice of him, but honestly I had no intentions of getting out of the car.) He pulled in front of me and jumped my car to start. He walked over to my window, which I unrolled part way, and he said "Ok, I think you are set, my name is Mark". I thanked him, then he asked if I wanted him to follow me for a ways. I told him that it wasn't necessary and thanked him again.Other than being a little shaken up and a little scared about breaking down in the middle of the night, I made it home all right.

Besides cleaning my apartment, which is now sparkling clean, I also brushed my cat, Darbi. She was shedding so much, I decided to try something new.
Has anyone ever vacuumed a cat?
Well, it doesn't work very well.
Before any of you get excited... I used a small dirt devil with a hose attachment. It was very gentle, she just freaked because of the noise.
Oh well, I thought it might work better than it did.

Anyway, I have watched several movies, cleaned house, groomed my cats and watered my plants. So it was a productive weekend in that way.

I am still waiting for the sunshine to break through this "funk"cloud that is over me, because I know everything balances out in the end.

Hope you all have a great Monday!

Love you
~xo

Tell you what, you're The Perfect Woman to have such a clean house. I need a good House Hubby. They seem to be in short demand. I'm happy to work hard, just so I can keep him at home, barefoot and... er... cooking.

Um. Let me guess. You have... CHARTER?!!?!?!?!?

Yep. THEY SUCK ASS.

Good luck with all that. Hope you have a great week!

Saur ~ I don't mind the cleaning at all, I sometimes have to get motivated. Sounds like you have "a plan" there!

Dave ~ Yep, you guessed correctly!
Just got my cable back, so I am hoping that is a sign for good things to come. Thanks!

aw, sorry Lee Ann :( It's gotta turn around soon. I know what you mean when stuff kinda piles up. Here's hoping the funk cloud breaks and some sunshine comes through!

Carl ~ Thank you. I would enjoy that more than you know.

Poly ~ Thank you, I love you too babe. Oh, and thank you so much for offering to "check under my hood", so very generous of you! ;)

Jlee ~ Thank you, I know things will turn around soon, I have faith.
Just got my cable back up, so maybe that is the initial sign that things are turning around.

Lee Ann, you should really get AAA. That whole stranger thing really scared me. You could have been raped, or worse...sorry, don't mean to sound like a mom, but it's cheap and worth the piece of mind...

Alie ~ I know, it was scary, I was lucky...and thanks, I do appreciate your concerns!

The car thing sounds a bit freaky! Even as a technophobe, I thought all women drivers should have mobile phones. Anyway, I keep expecting you to have gun. It was good of the guy to bother. I'd have been scared I'd be shot. (I can't even drive!!) Hotboy

Lee Ann said...

Hotboy ~ I do have a cellphone, but I could not reach anyone. My next step was to call 911 (emergency).
I do not have a gun, not everyone here does. I promise, if you were driving where I live, that would not be of concern. I was a little more concerned about what Aliecat (above) had mentioned.

Not that Minneapolis is a place to be worried about roadside rapists, but living in a big city (like Birmingham) gives one a healthy dose of paranoia and distrust of strangers...wish it wasn't the case. Plus I read this article in Glamour about rapist posing as police and firemen...shit, one more thing to be worried about...

Lee Ann said...

Alie ~ Damn, that is scary, hadn't thought about having to worry if a cop's credentials are real!

Your cat called me . She was in a funky mood . She said the ' devil
made you do it ' . I guess she's referring to the name of the vacuum cleaner you used .The good thing is , you can tell your friend , You have a funky cat !
Despite all the troubles , you came out of it alive !

i've been in a crummy mood since thursday myself. hearing that you are in a funk too makes me feel a little better... you know what they say: misery loves company.

let me know if you figure out a way to get out of it!

I've been in a dark funk all day...

I agree, people can suck at times!

If vacuuming the cat didn't get you out of the funk, it must be a bad one!

Lee Ann said...

Foto ~ Haha, that is good. Isn't Darbi sweet? She is a very likable cat.

Violet ~ I will let you know, when the funk fades! Hope you have sunshine soon.

Otis ~ Hmmm....I hope you have the sunshine soon too Otis.
Just surprising, that is for sure!

Tvs ~ I know, isn't that wild? I don't know what came over me. haha

When I'm in that funk, I put on some parliament and I let them drop the funk.

Also cat vacuuming is genius level.

It sounds like you need a vacation as much as I do.

I have Charter Cable too, and they are not the most reliable for the amount of money they charge. So glad to hear it's back on though.

You picked a good weekend to get all those chores done. Ours was mild enough (no scorching heat) so that I didn't have to turn the air on.

Take care, sweetie.... the funk won't last for long, and you'll appreciate your great reward when it's all over.

Lee Ann said...

Jiggs ~ Good advice, thank you.
I take that as such a huge compliment (my cat vacuuming)!
See, there are other things you can do with cats other than the kitten in a sandwich! haha

Lee Ann said...

Ellen ~ Thank you so much. You are such a dear person. I hope you have a wonderful vacation.

Ok...sorry you're in a funk right now but you totally gave me the best chuckle of my day to read "i vacuumed my cat" - brilliant!

Lee Ann said...

Le chat ~ I am glad that gave you a chuckle. I had spoken to a few friends on the phone during the weekend, and they all responded the same way when I was telling them what I did....
Me: "I was brushing Darbi, she was shedding so much I decided to do something. I told Darbi to stay still, I went to the laundry room and got my dirt devil" that was as far as I got each time when the other person immediately in shock said "YOU DIDN'T VACUUM YOUR CAT"...then a huge laugh. It was comical that they ALL said the exact same thing at the exact same point in the conversation.
Thanks for making me smile girl!

What a day for you ? Did the internet people give you a widow bet 8-5 ? I just hate that kind of window . It means you got to take the day off !

Lee Ann said...

John ~ No, they gave me a time between 1 and 3. I was here. No one came to the door, but all of the sudden my cable and internet was working. It was fixed without them having to come inside. I actually did not even need to take off at all!

I'm glad that guy was understanding that you didn't want to get out of the car.

We're also glad you're back.

Lee Ann said...

Jason ~ Turns out the guy was very cool. I was lucky... who ever said chivalry was dead?
It was a relief and good to see that a stranger can actually help another stranger.
Thanks cutie, glad to be back!
