Monday's random stuff on Tuesday

MANCHESTER, England (AP) -- As royal households go, Queen Elizabeth II's newest acquisition is unlikely to be confused with Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.
Queen crowned owner of abandoned house under medieval law - under a 607-year-old law, ownership for abandoned dwellings in the area automatically reverts to the British monarch.
It took years of investigation to identify the building's last owner, a dissolved company.
The son of its former director refused to take responsibility for 9 Parkdale Ave., and the rot set in.
Ralph McCabe, who lives next door says he's caught 109 rats in the past six months.

Do you think she will fix up the place?

NEW YORK (Billboard) -- The Eagles hope to take flight with a new album -- sooner rather than later, according to guitarist Joe Walsh. Eagles prepping 1st new album since 1979.

Wow, a blast from the past!

NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Diamonds are no longer a girl's best friend, according to a new U.S. study that found three of four women would prefer a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.

Hmmmm, I choose diamonds.
Well...I do! ;)

I can't imagine women asking each other, "So, he proposed? How big is the TV?"

Let's exchange links--I'm putting a link to your blog up on my site today.

I'm sure that Dave will be thrilled about the Eagles new tunes. He showed me a concert DVD of theirs that he has... I'll be interested to hear it, too.

Diamond or plasma television.... I think I might be with you on preferring diamonds. Because you know if a guy buys you a plasma tv, it is one of those gifts that is really for him more than it is for you.

Lovin' those Eagles ... Oooo hooo, witchy woman.

The TV isn't so bad, but it's a bugger to cram into one of those little boxes.

I choose diamonds too!

Imagine proposing to a women and instead of the little box, bring in a big, rectangular box and open it as he pops the question.

Does that mean when I propose to a woman I should offer her a choice of settings-- "in platinum" or "wall mounted"?

Lee Ann said...

Had to stop in and say HI!! Miss you.

Poor Mr. McCabe.... if there's an excavation, the rats will really come out of the woodworks. Just so glad I don't live next door to the Queens new acquisition.

I'll take the TV over the diamonds. I'm not happy knowing that they use small children in slave labor to extract the diamonds from the mines, myself.

And yay for the Eagles! They were the cats meow back in the late 1970's... and I still like them today.

Instantiable said...

Wow, I haven't read you in a long time. If you ever had a chance to say hi to me, I'd be able to check more often =P

Tumble ~ Hey, I have missed you too. I will come over for a visit. Any particular time better than another?

Ellen ~ I know, the rats, make me sick! I know, Saur has been very informative about diamonds. I just can't help myself, the sparkle just makes me happy. The Eagles are just so classic.

Lee Ann said...

Instantiable ~ Hey! I am glad to see you. I will come over for a visit. Thanks for coming by. Please do come back again soon.

The Missus is with you 100%. There's no substitute for diamonds. Sigh...

Ticharu said...

I'd so much rather have the diamonds! Plasma TVs are a complete waste of money. Diamonds are easy to carry and hold their value really well.

Lee Ann said...

Fred ~ Yes, I completely understand Fred!

Tich ~ You have some very good points!

I see that it's 2053hrs and 90 degrees in Birhmingham, sounds like it's been a rough day.

Lee Ann said...

Hey App!
Yes, it has been over 100* for a week now. The heat index is about 5* higher. Damn humidity.
It is good for making you feel like dragging around.
I shouldn't complain to you, I have it great compared to you.
So good to see you. I am so glad you keep in touch.
Be safe!
