Night sky

I am amazed at the beauty of the sky.

My phone camera has come in handy.
I should start carrying my good camera with me, as it seems there is always something begging to be snapped. I wish all of you could have been here to see how truly beautiful it was.

What is the saying about a pink sky at night?

I wish you all a wonderful weekend and hope you see something this beautiful.

Love you all

The pictures are very beautiful! I've always wanted to do a painting of the sky like that!

Metalchick ~ A painting like that.... I am sure it would be beautiful.

Rob ~ It is amazing how the sky can come in so many different colors from day to day and even minute by minute.
I hope you have good travelling...be safe.

Rob ~ oops, sorry...accidentally deleted your comment, I was trying something...sorry sweetie.
Thanks for stopping over here, I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love a great sunset! Thanks for posting them.
I think the saying goes "Pink sky at night sailors delight; pink sky at morning sailors take warning. My dad was in the Navy and that's what he always used to say...

Lovely sky! My fave is when there's a wild fire somewhere and the moon turns orange. Very cool...

It's darkest just before the dawn is the saying I like about the sky.

The dang battery in our camera died, and it's a 'high-end item' that you have to order directly from the company... oh, 'tis a sad tale indeed...

I still use a film camera.
I'm hoping in a few years it will be retro.

Pink sky reminds me of pink lemonade , pink flowers , pinkish baby complexion and the pink panther !

Have a pink weekend !

Lee Ann said...

Big mama ~ Oh yes, that is what the saying is...thank you...have a great weekend.

Alie ~ The moon is another thing that fascinates me.

Tich ~ Oh, I like that saying ~ it makes perfect sense too! Just get a cellphone with a camera...I use mine all the time when I don't have my good camera with me.

Lee Ann said...

Andy ~ A lot of people still use those. I have a couple of them. I just haven't used mine for a while. My view finder on one of my older cameras is not working properly.

Coach ~ I like pink, thank you Coach! Hope you have a good weekend.

You captured the beauty of the early night . Tranquil and calm . Like waiting for the storm lurking behind the gathering clouds .

There is something majestic about the sky as the sun sets. One thing you may want to do is drive west while the sun sets and try to get some pictures like that. I've tried that a few times with mixed results.

Lee Ann said...

John ~ I enjoyed your comments. Very poetic. Sunsets are truly one of my most favorite things. So peaceful and majestic.

Jason ~ I think I am going to start taking my camera with me everywhere and I will do that sometime.
I get a wonderful view of sunsets from my balcony...breathtaking. I think that may be my favorite time of day.

Great photies! Made me wish I had a camera. Anyway: Red sky at night, sheperd's delight. Red sky in morning, sheperd's awarning. Never heard of the pink one. The red sky at night .... it's the way clouds come over the Altantic towards Britain, I think. Hotboy

Myutopia ~ Hope you have a great weekend.

Hotboy ~ That sounds similar to the saying about pink skies, except it is sailors instead of sheperds. Have a great weekend Hotboy!

I have a Sony Cybershot. I also wear pants that have the cargo pockets in them. I never leave home without the camera in my pocket and it has brought some wonderful results. You really should think about it Lee Ann. Have a great weekend hun. Miss you.

TG ~ Oh, I know. I have a really good camera and it really isn't too big. I need to just put it in my car or carry it in my purse.
Thank you TG, I miss you too.

first thing:

on yesterdays post i can so feel you. that always happens to me. that or i get the person who knows squat and i get shuffled around from dept. to dept.

second thing:

i wish i could take pictures like you, or at least remember to take them. i always forget. plus i such at taking pictures :(

Amera ~ I think that is worse, when you get to the counter and the person that is suppose to help you doesn't know what to do, then sends you to someone else. You sometimes end up explaining your situation several times. That is frustrating.
Thank you, I do enjoy taking pictures. Maybe I should take a class to learn more on photography.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Lee Ann. I'm a little late to comment on these, but I enjoyed not only your sunset pics - but your enthusiasm for sunset pics.

You're right about carrying a camera. I commute 3 hours a day through the flat midwest, and get to see some great thunderstorms, sunrises, and sunsets.

Here's some of my sky pics (all G-rated!)

www.picturetrail.com/skypics

Hope you like them.

I've got some of the South from my business travels that I think you'd like also. Send me an email and I'll reply with a link to those.

Back to my main point: thanks for sharing your sunset pics. Cheered me up.

Lee Ann said...

SC man ~ Oh wow, I loved those pictures, they are amazing. I would definitely be carrying a camera with a long drive like that.
Gorgeous, thank you for sharing!
I look forward to seeing the others.
